Although the Tinley Park Library is closed Monday, January 2, 2012, to celebrate the New Year, there are plenty of events and activities going on at the library the rest of this week. If you’re on break from school – or your kids are on winter break – or you have time off from work, take advantage of some of these activities.
Tuesday, January 3, 2012:
Joker’s Wild Card Club
10:30 AM - 1:00 PM
This is an adults-only card game.
No gambling — just for fun.
No registration is required.
Thursday, January 5, 2012:
Stitch Club
11:00 AM – 1:00 PM
This is an adult program.
Open to all who want to meet, mingle and share tips on needlecraft projects.
Must bring own supplies.
No registration required.
Fun for All!
2:00 PM – 3:00 PM
Kids ages 3 to 10 year olds are invited to spend a fun afternoon at the library. The program room will be set up with a variety of open play activities for parents and kids to enjoy. Children 10 and under must attend with a parent.
Friday, January 6, 2012:
Cupcake Challenge
7:00 PM – 8:00 PM
This is a teen program for Grades 6 to 12, Grades 6 to 8, Grades 9 to 12.
It’s survival of the sweetest this time around! Join the library for three of their tastiest competitions yet when they recreate this super-popular dessert treat for celebrity judges and fellow teens. Bring a friend to team up with or compete individually. Sign up for each session separately. Registration required to participate. You can register online.
Saturday, January 7, 2012:
Bilingual Storytime in Arabic
11:00 AM – 11:30 AM
Ages: 3 yrs. to third grade, plus parents and families
Enjoy the sounds of stories and songs in both languages at this presentation of children’s favorites in Arabic and English. For children 3 years of age through third grade and their families. No registration required.
